set it up n shoot!

its been soo long i never go out to do some shooting. i get soo bored at home n came out of an idea to set up something. the set up take me soo long n the shoots takes awhile only. i use a toothpick n candle. burn the toothpick abit n mess it around the paper. finally, i use the toothpick again n form a letter. i dint know wat letter to form soo i just simply make 'fire'
the lighting was abit hard for dis. i always dnt knw how to control lighting. soo i jst make the lighting look balance. there was a speedlite(nissin di622 mrkII) with a diy mini softbox at the left side. after taking a few shoots lighting was unbalance. the left side bright bt right side soo dark. lol. so i added a reflector on the right side n adjust the flash slightly upwards. after taking a shoots, lighting was still unblance. the right side was only brighten abit. theres nothing more i can do because to make a balance lighting, i need 2 source or light coming from left n right. well, at least i can bringhten abit on the right side la. hahaha :p

Its been awhile :)

it been awhile i dint update my blog.. here i m again.. hahahaha
uhmm, nt much la to say.. im nw in miri since 6th sept until 12th sept. come to miri just to cuti2 saja n celebrate my friend bday :) everyday do same thng as in kk. lol. nw i cnt wait to go bck to meet her :) i rly miss her!!

Its also been 1week i dint go shooting alrdy. the last location i went to shoot was at sutera. pic r uploading soon :) it was my frst time shooting without using digital. oni shoot wit the mamiya RB67 n expose on shanghai GP3 100. sadly i develop my film was underfix :( i hav to refix it again n the correct time for fixing r act triple of my fixing time tht i counted. lol. its hard to use DIY fixer (sodium thiosulphate) for fixing. rly need to get myself a real fixer. mayb illford rapidfixer will do. hehehe. for developing i alrdy got myself a rodinal. no more using cafenol (coffee + sodium carbonate). still use la bt mayb oni for cheap films. for expensive film i use rodinal. hehehe. k la, thts all frm me i guess. stay tuned for my more upcoming pic. alrdy develop bt nt yet scan. soo need jst b patient. hahaha. cya guys :) thx for reading.

Natap #30 ft. The Five

This was the first cool event tht i've ever join.
went an outing wit the Natap Photography group. This is also my first time in shooting models. Before this i've been shooting landscapes alot.
from this outing, i gt alot of experience n more skills. It was nt easy to play arnd wit lighting coz i dnt hav a wireless triger tht time soo i just use on flash camera. Did my best to control the lighting. This r few of the pic take frm the outing. oh ya, the location was at warisan square. time arnd 4pm+

Film or Digital?

I really gt blur of this 2 things. Film or Digital. hmmmm
at first i was shooting in film with a toy camera. as time pass by i change to a film slr (canon AV-1). since then i started to get serious in film n started to shoot in black & white film photography. i also learn the way to self develop the film at home. 1st n 2nd time i fail (wasted my film :( ) 3rd n 4th time i finally success but still need some improvement.
by end of the year, my dad speak to me n ask 'y r u still shooting in film?' i answer 'shooting film is fun when u get to know more about the film'
then my dad bought me a dslr (eos 60D) was vry happy to own a dslr but since then i've put my film things aside. I wanted to get serious in film photography but technology now days really ruins everythng. wanted to buy stuff for film project bt all my budjet have gone to the digital.
soo i decided to shoot in film n digital now. have to rebudjet my money for all the stuff.

what i need to buy for film project:
-developing tank
-chemical for developing
-black&white films
-negative scanner

what i need to buy for digital project:
-good tripod
-ND & CPL filter

still alot of stuff need to buy. huhuhu. really need to save money now :(

Heart Bokeh!

This is a very simple trick u can do on ur camera. just cut out a heart shape on a paper n paste it in front of ur lens. make sure the heart shape u cut out are perfect. set ur camera to M focus, aim any light n try to defocus ur lens. the street light will shape into heart. enjoy it!

Street of Kota Kinabalu

just a simple but nice location. took this shoot around 7.00pm+. Just wanna test my new canon 10-22mm lens. hehehe. Most of the back image are not in focus soo i use photoshop to sharpen the image.
